Afghan \ blanket edging

This is a baby blanket, I was just winging the edging....and it came out so pretty. I am in love with this.

Thought I should share the pattern, so here it goes. It’s very easy !

It uses cross over double crochet.

Cross-Over double crochet: Skip one stitch, dc in the next stitch and then dc in the skipped stitch. It creates a little cross and is a very full stitch.

Picot: Chain 3, sl st in the 3rd chain.

Rnd 1: SC in every stitch

Rnd 2:Chain 3, *cross-over DC, DC, repeat from * all around. Sl st in the 3rd ch of beginning chain.

Rnd 3: SC in every stitch

Rnd 4: Chain 4, DC in the same st. skip 2, * V stitch (dc, chain 1, dc) all in one stitch. skip 2*....repeat from * to *

Rnd 5: V in V....dc , ch 1, dc in the chain 1 space of last row's V. Repeat all around.

Rnd 6: sc in the space between Vs, (sc, picot, sc) all in chain 1 sp, repeat all around.

All done.

I have also tried making a graph for this pattern, if that’s more convenient for you.

I am not very experienced at writing patterns so please bear with me. And if you find any mistake or have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks

  5. This is a beautiful edging but if you dont mind I would like to make a couple of suggestions.
    1. Show how to end each row.
    2. Edit the pattern for the corners.
    3. Just explain the pattern a little better.
Otherwise it is a beautiful border.
    Thank You, Dee

  6. Can you share the blanket pattern you use? What is the edge stitch count of the blanket so the boarder stitches match the blanket?
