Afghan \ blanket edging

This is a baby blanket, I was just winging the edging....and it came out so pretty. I am in love with this.

Thought I should share the pattern, so here it goes. It’s very easy !

It uses cross over double crochet.

Cross-Over double crochet: Skip one stitch, dc in the next stitch and then dc in the skipped stitch. It creates a little cross and is a very full stitch.

Picot: Chain 3, sl st in the 3rd chain.

Rnd 1: SC in every stitch

Rnd 2:Chain 3, *cross-over DC, DC, repeat from * all around. Sl st in the 3rd ch of beginning chain.

Rnd 3: SC in every stitch

Rnd 4: Chain 4, DC in the same st. skip 2, * V stitch (dc, chain 1, dc) all in one stitch. skip 2*....repeat from * to *

Rnd 5: V in V....dc , ch 1, dc in the chain 1 space of last row's V. Repeat all around.

Rnd 6: sc in the space between Vs, (sc, picot, sc) all in chain 1 sp, repeat all around.

All done.

I have also tried making a graph for this pattern, if that’s more convenient for you.

I am not very experienced at writing patterns so please bear with me. And if you find any mistake or have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks

Wrap around baby booties and a quick hat.

These turned out so cute, booties and hat set for my very dear friend's newest piece :)
I added flowers in case it's a girl, she can remove them later. She doesnt know the gender yet, as its banned in India to find out gender pre-birth. And since these will be shipped to India I wont be able to do last minute changes myself. So had to think of a way that it can be used for both just with a little snip and cut :)
The wrap around booties pattern isn't mine, its from imtopsyturvy. Here is the link to the pattern for wrap around booties, keep reading for the flowers and hat pattern.
http://www.imtopsyturvy.com/crochet-wrap-button-baby-boots-girls-boys/
I also made a hat to go with it. Here is the pattern for hat:

Hat:

Start with a magic circle
R1: Chain 3, 12 dc inside the magic circle and pull it tight. Slip stitch to the first DC (not to the 3rd chain of chain 3 because that gives a very visible seam. This method creates a less visible seam)
R2: Chain 2, 2 DC in the same stitch, 2 DC in every DC, sl st to the first dc (24)
R3: Chain 2, 2 DC in the same stitch, 1 DC in the next stitch (repeat all around), sl st to the first DC (36)
R4: Chain 2, 1 DC in the same stitch, 1 DC in each stitch around (36)
R5-R10: Repeat R4
R11: Change color if you want to and repeat row 4 twice.
R12 (edging): Chain 3, *2 DC in the same stitch, skip 2 stitches, SC in the next stitch, Chain 2* Repeat from * to * around. Fasten off and weave the ends.

Flower Petals:
Start with a magic circle
Rnd 1: Chain 4, * DC , Chain 1* repeat from * 9 times . Slip stitch in the 3rd ch of beginning ch 4 (you have 10 chain 1 spaces)
Rnd 2: SC in the next chain one space, HDC, 2DC, HDC, SC in the same chain 1 space. SC in the next ch 1 space, HDC, 2 DC, HDC, SC. And repeat for every chain 1 space until you have 10 petals. Sl st in the beginning SC.
Flower Centre:
Start with a magic circle
Chain 3. 12 DC inside the magic circle, sl st to the beginning DC.

This is how they looked before the flowers were added.

And after the flowers are added if its a girl:

Crocheted beer bottle, for planting.

I made this bottle to plant some water plants. I love the combination of straw and plants. The bottle used is of the brand HOLESTEN...you can use any other bottle which has this shape and size.

I used a 5mm hook and some colored straw.

Start with a magic circle
R1: 6 sc inside the circle, mark the beginning stitch with a stitch marker.
R2: 2 sc in each sc until the end of round(12)
R3: 2sc in the next stitch, 1 sc in the next stitch, repeat around(18)
R4: 2sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next stitch, 1sc in the next stitch, repeat around.(24)

R5:1 sc in every stitch(24)

R6: 7 and 8: repeat R5. Finish the last round (R8) by doing a slip stitch in the next stitch.
R9: Now chain 4, skip the next stitch and dc in the next stitch chain 1, dc in the next stitch , repeat around. Slip stitch in the 3rd chain of beginning chain 4.

R10: Chain 1, slip stitch in the same stitch, sc in.the next chain 1 space, sc in the next dc, repeat around

R11: 1 sc in every stitch

R12: Repeat R9

R13: Repeat R10

R14: Repeat R11

R15: Repeat R9

R16: Repeat R10

Now put the bottle inside and do the rest of the rows with bottle inside

R17: 1 sc in the next stitch, 1 sc in the next stitch, sc dec in the next 2 stitches. Repeat around (18)

R18: 1 sc in the next stitch,  sc dec in the next 2 stitches. Repeat around (12)

R19: sc dec in the next 2 stitches. Repeat around (6)

R20-27: sc in every stitch. You can keep repeating until you have reached the tip of the bottle. Fasten off. Weave the ends.
I attached this ring to hang it on the wall, you can skip that part.

Homemade File / Paper / Shelf Organizer

Here's something I did yesterday.
Making a shelf/file organizer using an empty detergent box.
